Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and we're not here to judge anyone's home decor choices, clothing style, or car color. But sometimes people have such poor taste that we can't help but shake our heads at their terrible ideas - and trust us, you'd shake your head at some of these products, too. But the good news is that, with determination, even the worst of projects can be executed perfectly. So get ready to be impressed by these hilariously questionable yet flawless creations.
A Buddha Like No Other
For most people, car tires or other car parts don't inspire our inner artists. But for some, like the artist behind this tire Buddha, life is art, and art is life! These rubber tires most probably have hit the pavement for hundreds, if not thousands, of miles of road and were begging for a well-deserved rest. What could be more restful than being transformed into a friendly, meditative, and contemplative Buddha made from recycled rubber tires?
The next time you're in the car, take a look and see whether the tires or any other part of your cool ride would look good as a rubber Buddha.
Gingerbread Drug Den
Gingerbread houses usually inspire happy, positive memories of decorating cookie houses with family and friends while listening to jolly, joyful holiday music. But that's not always the case, as with this dark version of what should be an innocent and tasty treat. Nothing says holiday spirit like this ramshackle gingerbread house covered in graffiti and dark imagery. Though edible, this frosted, candied drug den cookie house doesn't look tasty or tasteful.
But we have a feeling that's the vibe this creator wanted. After all, a drug den isn't supposed to look inviting, warm, and welcoming like a traditional gingerbread house.
The Grinch Has A New Look
The Grinch has always had a larger-than-life personality and presence. So, it makes sense that people dressing up as this character may want to liven things up at holiday parties and keep us on our toes by trying out a female version of the Grinch. Props to the flashy jewels, long fingernails, and prominent lipstick, which all make for a festive drag queen Grinch! But we can't help but be a little terrified by the Christmas-hating character, even in its drag version.
Ho Ho Ho! All hail the female Grinch who's decked out in all her less-than-tasteful but still admirable glory! Way to make the most of a costume idea, however flashy!
Floored By A Water-Like Floor
Everyone understands the appeal of a water bed. After all, who doesn't want to be lulled to sleep by the soothing feeling of sleeping among the gentle waves? But there's a limit to how far a water-like interior design can go, right? No one wants to feel like they're wading in a room full of ankle-deep water when walking across their bedroom. An epoxy water-like floor design can create more stress than relaxation - even for those of us with inner mermaids.
The idea for an epoxy water-like floor design should make anyone want to drown the person behind it! We kid, we kid. But while creative, it's a bit too wild for a relaxing room design.
How Not To Carve A Pumpkin
Carving pumpkins is typically thought of as a fun family activity inspired by Halloween-related themes. While lopsided smiley faces or jack-o-lanterns with jagged teeth and open mouths may be the norm, there are no bounds for creative pumpkin carvings. However, maybe there should be! A tired-looking breast-pumping new pumpkin mother and her two round little pump "kins" may be taking things too far for the spooky holiday. But then again, the result is flawless.
Who says that jack-o-lanterns have to be carved to resemble animals or funny faces? Sometimes the scariest and most realistic pumpkin carvings during Halloween are the ones that resemble reality!
Give Them A Hand... Or Not
Who'd have thought that candles could make people feel nauseous? With so many different types, colors, styles, and scents of candles out there to calm our nerves, soothe our senses and enhance our ambiance, is there really a need for ones shaped like hands with bleeding fingers? Apparently, there is! Creative yet gruesome, these candles are perfect for those bleeding hearts among us or if you just want a laugh.
Nothing sets the mood quite like bleeding hands on fire. These unique candles may just be the perfect way to set or change any atmosphere, for better or for worse.
Finding Nature in the Most Unexpected of Places
When nature calls, there's not much choice but to give in. But think about how pleasant it would be to enter a nature-inspired bathroom where the toilets or urinals are all in the shapes and colors of green leaves, white daisies, white calla lilies, and yellow sunflowers. It would be relaxing to be able to "do your business," all the while feeling like you're doing so out in the middle of nature in a beautiful field of flowers. Just don't forget to flush! It may not sound like nature, but you can close your eyes and imagine that it is.
We've all been to our fair share of public restrooms. Some have been clean, and others disgusting. Here's one that is so inviting that it'll actually be hard to leave it.
Is She in the Car or at Church?
It might be tacky, but we have to admit that the views are amazing from this car's colorful stained-glass sunroof. It may seem exaggerated to spend so much time outfitting a car's sunroof with specialized stained glass, but the rainbow of colors and their effect are so worth it. Everyone loves to see the world in a different way, which is what will happen when viewing it through this impressively weird multi-colored and exotic sunroof.
Add more color to your world as you watch it pass by from the stained-glass sunroof. Not only does it add value to the car but also to your views.
An Ogre of a Car
The driver of this funky pick-up truck has added some sass to his hip ride by adding an element of humor and charm to it. A Shrek-inspired car may not be to everyone's taste, but it will most likely bring a smile to every passerby and passenger. If not, then it will inspire some raised eyebrows, at least. Call it creative or crazy, but this design will get people talking.
Shrek may not be the first movie to inspire people's design choices, but it may just be the first movie where a jolly green ogre is the source of inspiration.
'Tis The Season
There are many ways to get into the holiday spirit and spread the holiday joy. Some people quite literally use their heads to do so, just like the person in this picture. Decorating or painting your hair and head to resemble a Christmas tree ornament is a brave and creative way to get everyone in the mood for holiday festivities, though it may be a bit more permanent and extreme than necessary.
There's no need for the ugly Christmas sweater when you've literally got your head covered in the holiday spirit. The tree will need to make room for different kinds of ornaments!
That's One Smokin' Dessert
If you're looking for a new idea for an unorthodox and bizarre party treat, which your guests will either love or hate, you may want to consider pretzel sticks dipped in white chocolate and topped with poppy seeds at the tips. While serving snacks that resemble cigarettes is considered inappropriate for your underaged guests, most people, no matter their age, will probably find the idea unappetizing. But who knows, maybe people like chomping and snacking on fake nicotine sticks.
At least these edible white chocolate-covered pretzel cigarettes are a healthy alternative to real cigarettes. It won't be much of a surprise to find the plate remaining full at parties.
A Few Trips to the Pharmacy Later and...
A trip to the local pharmacy is not usually a memorable outing that one wants to make a big deal about. So this CVS receipt scarf is a wild and weird way to capture the magic (or doldrums) of your last shopping trip to the local neighborhood CVS. It may seem questionable why anyone would want to share with the world proof of a CVS purchase, especially if it was deodorant marked down on sale. But stranger things have happened - and have been worn on a cold winter's day.
If your neck stays warm, what does it matter how the scarf looks? Since the CVS receipt scarf is black and white, it will most likely go with any outfit.
This Toilet Is Actually Invisible to the Human Eye
Toilets may come in all shapes and sizes, but here's one that's microscopic in size and was created for a micrograph competition. No one needs a toilet that small but now that it's been made, why not celebrate it? The people behind the micrograph competition found it special enough to award it first place - which proves that even the smallest ideas have great potential to be big winners!
This could be the world's smallest toilet, an idea too microscopic to even catch most people's attention. And yet, this tiny little thing won a competition that found it totally rad.
That's One Toothy Car
When out shopping for a new car, a front bumper featuring an open mouth full of teeth is not usually something that's on our "must-have" list of car features. But hey, this car and its showy front end have an air of personality that no other automobiles have. With headlights that look like friendly eyes and a weird toothy smile, this car is either sweet or really creepy (probably the latter).
The next time you want to go out for a ride, consider whether you would want to be in a car that resembles a person rather than an inanimate object.
For When It's Cold Outside but You Might Need a Snack
We all know that wearing a hat helps retain body heat and keeps us warm. But what about using a hat to keep our hunger at bay? This hat made of bread may be worth trying on and even tasting, especially when you're hankering for a yeasty snack. But what about keeping the crumbs out of your hair? This lined bread cap truly redefines what tasteful can mean when describing accessories.
What happens when you can't decide if you're hungry or would rather keep your head warm? Time will tell. This hat made of bread will probably invite funny looks as well as ants.
Here's A New Meaning To Cigarette Butts
Plenty of smokers will appreciate a charming cigarette holder or dispenser. The best kind can be both functional and stylish. But this wooden mule goes above and beyond. Upon first glance, it serves as a cute figurine in which to store precious cigarettes. And yet, upon closer look, it is also a dispenser from which those who grab the cigarette will have to do so from its rear end.
Do smokers really want to smoke cigarettes that come out of the rear end of a wooden animal? We guess they won't really have a choice if this guy's around.
We Have a Feeling Those Teeth Aren't Fake
No one is ever too young or too old to appreciate a sweet stuffed animal or doll. They are supposed to be cuddly, cute, and huggable. But when the stuffed animal inspires nightmares instead of hugs, maybe it's time to get a new doll. It's preferable to get one that doesn't have scary half-opened eyes and real teeth, which are the last features anyone wants to see in their stuffed animal.
Sure, E.T. and Gremlins can be considered cute in a weird way, but stuffed animals that look like half-human aliens with teeth and creepy eyes will surely make kids cry.
The Skunk Look
Some haircuts are conservative, and others are bold. Some hairstyles involve just the hair on the person's head, while others incorporate facial hair for extreme effect. There's no limit to a person's creativity when it comes to hairstyles. However, trying to look like a skunk, with a black and white Mohawk and facial hair, may make people think twice about whether using animals as inspiration for a hairstyle is worthwhile.
Sporting a black and white mohawk in addition to both black and white facial hair seems more like a radical costume idea than an everyday hairstyle. Most people would agree.
This One Left Us Speechless
It's one thing to walk on heels and quite another to walk on metal stilts with clawed feet. Whoever thought of this idea and designed these stilts may be fantasizing about being a very tall bird or dinosaur. While these stilts don't seem to be sturdy or comfortable to walk in, they could possibly be fun as a piece of art to just stand still on and observe your surroundings.
Talk about getting a bird's eye view of the world! These weird-looking metal claw-feet stilts will give the person standing on them a different view and perspective of their surroundings.
Mac and Cheese With a Side of Tentacles
Macaroni and cheese is the ultimate snack or meal unless it's being served with octopus tentacles. Any piece of art that shows a bowl of melted cheese dripping from and over octopus tentacles may make people lose their appetite for the Kraft mac and cheese box that is the centerpiece. Some people may think this is a creative attempt at art; others may find it inspiration for a diet!
The combination of macaroni and cheese and octopus tentacles is not a tasteful one, though it does inspire a reaction. It's best not to display this art in anyone's kitchen.
A Multi-Purpose Christmas Tree Ornament
This lite beer-filled Christmas tree ornament will make decorating the Christmas tree more fun and perhaps rowdy as adults can drink its alcoholic contents before hanging the empty container on the tree. It will certainly contribute to a merry and festive holiday mood, especially if there is more than one such beer ornament! A tree decorated with beer ornaments may not be what Santa or his elves quite imagined, though.
Beer-filled Christmas tree ornaments will be tasty though not tasteful. And you can drink straight out of the ornament itself. Not the most classy of tree ornaments, but probably fun.
We're Guessing He's a Big Fan of Marge Simpson
Everyone loves the iconic TV show The Simpsons, especially Marge Simpson. It's one thing to be a fan of the show and character but quite another to turn Marge into your own head tattoo! Here's what not to do when looking for your next hairstyle or tattoo inspiration: give yourself a color tattoo of Marge on the back of your head along with her purple coifed hair on the top of your head.
Plastering a color tattoo of Marge Simpson and her puffy blue hair on the back and top of one's head is taking fandom for the TV show a little too far.
A Magic Carpet Ride On Wheels
Carpets are comfortable and cozy inside the house but on a car? Perhaps if the rug were inside the car instead of on the hood, on the bumper, and on the top of the car and side panels, one could understand the idea behind this wacky design idea? It does give an authentic look to the car and something for other cars on the road to talk and laugh about.
Is there a point to having a carpeted car exterior besides giving a soft, warm carpeted landing to all the bugs that will hit it while the car travels?
A Tacky Couple's Dream Romantic Ride
Riding in a limousine is a dream for many, as limos are the ultimate in comfort, glamour, and fun. These limos will certainly turn heads when people see a pink limo with a heart-shaped pool where the trunk should be and a blue topless limo that is actually two cars in one! This double limo, which offers double the leg space and doubles the glamour, takes the concept a little too far.
This pink limo with an outdoor pool and turquoise double limo with nothing but floor space make for odd transport. Passengers may be in for the ride of their lives.
Welcome To The Jungle Of A Bathroom
The rich and famous can afford to have extravagant taste in their interior design. However, this bathroom takes extravagance to a whole new, distasteful and jaw-dropping level. An oversized face statue dripping with red paint, which disturbingly resembles blood, and a large gold monkey hanging from the ceiling's light fixture, dangling over the fancy jacuzzi, do not give off a tranquil atmosphere in which to have a relaxing, low-key bubble bath. This is one weird jungle of a bathroom.
Money does not necessarily buy good taste, as this gaudy bathroom proves. Most people would prefer to bathe in serenity, not next to paint-stained face statues or under large, swinging monkeys.
Only the Most Glamorous Hikers Can Handle This
Outdoor activities like hiking and walking, especially where water is involved, are usually best done in proper outdoor waterproof shoes. There are all sorts of water sandal brands that cater to outdoorsy people who love such water activities. However, combining stiletto heels with such sandals is a bit of a stretch. It doesn't seem practical to try to hit the forest trails in high heels, not to mention it also looks weird and uncomfortable.
These rather ugly stiletto-heeled waterproof sandals don't make sense for anyone attempting to hike or even just to play in the water. They don't look comfortable to walk in, either.
A Uniformed Way To Sit
This uniform-covered chair is less than inviting, especially with buttons waiting to poke into your back and rear end. While a different and unique upholstery choice, this button-down coat with striped arms and a collar makes for a very formal and unorthodox furniture design. This chair looks more like a piece of art than a piece of furniture to comfortably sit in. Would anyone really dare to sit in it?
This uniform-turned-upholstery looks too formal to sit on. No one would want to have to iron it after sitting on it. Nor does the chair look comfortable to sit on anyway.
Someone Took Their Lobster Obsession a Little Too Far
When it comes to lobster, people are more used to seeing lobster in aquariums or on their plates instead of on their feet. These lobster flip-flops are attempting to change the way people look at seafood. It's highly doubtful, though, that lobster will be the new trend in footwear as it makes for a much better menu idea and meal. No one wants to step on these critters before eating them.
These lobster sandals are most probably not going to become the new fashion trend in footwear. They make scare off the faint of heart or anyone else with decent taste.
Talk About A Real Eyesore
If you want to permanently disgust your friends and family, wear this eyeball mask that shows a close-up of an eye socket, complete with a protruding eyeball, a green iris, pupil, and veins. There are eyelashes, too, as if this mask wasn't realistic-looking or gross enough without them. For even more creativity or gross reactions, you can try to put on a fake contact lens, too. This mask is hard to look at.
While this eyeball mask may seem like a good, scary costume idea, the wearer can't see while wearing it, which proves that its only purpose is to gross people out.
Need a Hand With That?
It seems like everyone is working remotely these days, so laptop bags are a necessity for many people, whether digital nomads or online shopaholics. But do we really need a fake hand attached to a chain that we can wear over our shoulder that grasps our laptop while we move from one cafe to another? This accessory idea doesn't only seem odd and disturbing but also a very unsturdy way to safely transport our prized laptop.
The designer of this hand-held laptop purse deserves a hand for his creativity, though it seems a weird and unreliable way to keep track of and protect one's valuable laptop.
Literally the Worst Place for a Bar
One doesn't need to look any further than this pimped-out ride for a comfortable yet inappropriate drive. Here's a car whose interior is all decked out from end to end in soft, plush upholstered seats and dashboard. Boasting what looks like an uncomfortable metal chain for a steering wheel will make driving a real challenge, yet have no fear, as the open bar on the passenger's side will calm anyone's rattled nerves. The seats do look very comfortable, though.
Drinking and driving are never acceptable, so this car, with its open bar so close to the driver, is a little worrying. The chain for a steering wheel also makes one uneasy.
Head to Toe Denim Is Officially in Style
Who says that denim jeans are meant to be worn only as pants? These high-heeled boots are made from denim jean material and even have a jeans button at the ankle. These jeans ankle boots may match the pair of jeans you're wearing, but they don't look as comfortable as leather boots would be. The ankle button may also make them harder to get into and out of if you're in a hurry.
The 1980s are long over, so there's no need anymore to deck yourself out in denim. These denim boots should probably remain in your closet. They don't look stylish or comfortable.
Death To Pineapples
Since pineapples are sweet and tasty, and everyone loves to eat and look at them, it's no wonder they make appealing kitchen decor. However, this ceramic pineapple, whose base is made up of human skulls, is a bit off-putting. The black leaf can be understood, but the deadly design makes this pineapple a rather grisly and grim decoration piece. Perhaps it's good for Halloween but not for any other time of year.
This skull-bearing pineapple makes for a very unappetizing and even scary piece of fake fruit. No one will want to put this on their table unless it's a table full of Halloween treats.
Biking for a Cause
This bicycle and its giant-sized sperm replica will turn the heads of those who see the biker ride by. Spectators may want to get out of the way of this odd, if not inappropriate, contraption. The sperm's tail extends under the biker's seat and past the rear tire to elicit eye rolls and laughter. Since when does bicycle riding have anything to do with fertility? Maybe someone should tell the rider.
Who's to say that biking isn't good for one's fertility? Maybe that's the important message that this biker rider is trying to convey by riding this weird sperm-friendly extended bicycle.
These Stools Are Free Range and Organic
These wooden stools are both functional and funny. Whoever thought of taking kitchen stools and painting them in black and white blobs to resemble the color of cows and attaching red cow udders under the seat has way too much time on their hands. While these do inspire a laugh or two, there probably aren't many homes or especially kitchens whose overall interior design matches these outlandishly designed cow stools.
Maybe on a farm, especially in a cow pasture, these cow stools would fit in with their surroundings. They are funny and even cute but won't find themselves in homes.
That's One Haircut That'll Be Tough to Maintain
Some bad experiences make people's hair stand on end. This haircut literally does that! This hairdresser introduces a bold style of cut that uses as inspiration the look of ancient Egyptian Queen Nefertiti. This version results in one tall, multicolor hairstyle that features black stripes running through black and yellow-tipped hair. It is one style for the ages that most people would be too shy or conservative to want to try.
The only good thing about this haircut is the knowledge that hair grows back, which is a comfort in situations like this when a hairstyle is too bold for words.
Rolling The Dice Has Never Bean So Fun
Dice made with Heinz beans inside of them is a totally unique and weird concept; some would even say gross. Opening a can of baked beans only to discover that they are dice would catch the consumer by surprise. It's doubtful that anyone playing games that require dice would want to do so once they saw that their multi-numbered dice are filled with beans. There are probably weirder game pieces.
A can of dice made with beans may cause players to lose their appetites. Children who are told to stop playing with their food will be excited by these dice.
Literally Keeping An Eye On This Ring
Rings are a fun, fancy way to express yourself in jewelry. Whether worn on fingers or toes, rings can be tasteful and modest or showy and gaudy. That being said, it's hard to find a more shocking ring than this one, which contains a glass eye. Whoever chooses to wear such a ring with a glass eyeball staring back at them will not get many compliments on this piece of jewelry. If anything, it will scare away people with good taste.
An eyeball ring is likely the last thing that anyone would wish for when thinking about classy jewelry. Who would want to look down at their hands to see an eye staring back at them?
Keeping The Dust And Eyes Off The TV
When company comes over, and you want to hide the TV, or else when the kids or spouse have watched way too much TV, and you want them to forget about binging the next show or movie, this frilly, lacy peacock-decorated curtain may seem like a good way to hide the television set. It is distracting enough to inspire as much conversation about the lace as the latest TV show. It's hard to take one's eyes off the curtain itself.
This curtain has so many peacocks and frills that it will take everyone's minds off of the TV set underneath it. However, the black screen seems classier than this covering.
Let's Face It, This Statue Is Creepy
A statue in the shape of a hand that is missing a finger and features a face is either a great marketing ploy or else a disturbing cry for help. If the creator behind this hand and face statue is trying to scare onlookers, then he or she has achieved their aim. If a company is trying to attract visitors, it may want to rethink its choice of advertising tools.
This face on a hand statue may spark conversation and surprised looks, but it does not invite anyone to come in for a closer look to check it out in detail.
