A Colorful Handmade Gown
Talk about something that took a lot of time and effort but looks beautiful. It's a poofy gown with three colors layering one another like a blended painting. First, the top of the dress is turquoise, then the color transitions into a lighter blue, layered with a light purple, then a dark purple, finally ending with a pinkish purple and a turquoise ribbon tied in the back. It's absolutely gorgeous!
It's reminiscent of the kind of princess dress you see in Disney movies. Of course, it's not a dress that everyone would wear. It's a personal preference, where some people would love it, others would hate it. But, for us, we adore it!
A Monumental Lamp
You would never assume that the shape of a safety pin could be transformed into a lamp. However, we now live in a world where near-on everything is possible. This Reddit user certainly used his imagination to invent something so original and practical. Made out of aluminum and 3D printed parts, a giant safety pin lamp has been created. When the pin is closed, the light turns off; when the pin opens, the lamp turns on.
We thought it was a picture of an actual safety pin when we first saw it. But then there was this realization that this is one of the most extraordinary things yet to be seen!
A Beekeeper's Necklace
This necklace is a beautiful accessory - it's practically a piece of art to look at. Here a beekeper has preserved pieces of honeycomb they've taken from inside their hives with resin. It's not a simple task to get this piece looking so shiny and clean. A lot of careful rinsing and drying would have been done to achieve the final product represented in the picture. What a beautiful labor of love!
We also love how the photographer has positioned the pendant so that the light is shining through it. It almost looks as if the honeycomb is glowing! All in all, we can't get enough of this necklace.
A Painting Made by The Next Van Gogh
This next creation is a painting of a giant stormy wave painted by a talented young artist. Her style is similar to Van Gogh's starry night: an oil painting, thick brushstrokes, and famous swirl shape movement. The colors are also reminiscent of Picasso's blue period. As the blue, white, and black blend into each other, blue becomes the dominant color, making the painting almost look like blue monochrome.
There's a small ship sailing in the center of the ocean, which looks drastically tiny compared to the giant wave, purposely showcasing the wave's enormity. It almost seems like the boat is moving until we realize that our mind is playing a trick on us, and it's just a piece of art that's truly exceptional.
A Luminous Necklace
Pictured here is an enchanting turquoise necklace that also emits light. Yes, you heard correctly. This piece was made using precious metals, resin, and glow pigment. The latter absorbs light to emit light. How cool is that?! This glowing necklace would look incredible at night, and would certainly be a fun talking point. Perhaps the perfect accessory for a blind date? At least you could fall back on your necklace to talk about!
For anyone interested in buying this Reddit user's glowing jewelry, this artist sells these beautiful pieces on Etsy! Who needs a torch, when you can pave your way with accessories?
The Ultimate Bumper Sticker
This artist creates bumper stickers challenging stereotypical narratives about women. Pictured here this sticker reads, "I like my women like I like my coffee....strong and valued in the workplace". The creator is a social worker and enjoys this creative outlet for relieving the daily stresses of work. The Reddit user also added that they started selling their bumper stickers at music festivals...to then purchase tickets to music festivals, which they loved attending. Fun, right?
In short, these bumper stickers are great. We love these humorous and catchy sayings that simultaneously support women's rights. It doesn't matter where you drive, it must be nice to know the person driving behind you is reading your thought-provoking bumper sticker!
From A Wedding Purse to a Keepsake Pillow
Get your tissues ready! This beautiful keepsake pillow was originally a wedding purse. However, after 27 years of storing it, it somehow got discarded and ruined in the rain. So this creative artist did something lovely and thoughtful for her mother's 27th wedding anniversary. She managed to save the purse and transformed it into a keepsake pillow. As you can see, the purse has been given a new lease of life and can now be used as something beautiful to look at or sit comfortably with on the couch.
It's a white pillow, the shape of a small rectangle, with white crystal beads creating a floral design. The story behind this pillow is so special and inspiring. It makes us want to create something sentimental for someone we love!
A Pretty Painting of a Sunbathing Pitbull
Here's a picture for the dog lovers out there. With the daily stresses in our crazy, busy lives, we all need a moment of serenity. This painting will do just that. In a bed of pretty flowers, a colorful pitbull, with its eyes closed, meditates and enjoys the sun. It's a beautiful watercolor portrait. We think the multicolored dog complements the bright flowers, while the light yellow background seems to represent the sun.
Who wouldn't want to buy this painting and hang it up on their wall? The colors are absolutely gorgeous and complement each other so perfectly. If only we could feel as chilled out as this dog!
A Combination of Backgammon and Nature
This Reddit user created a backgammon set made out of beech wood and a bio-resin inlay of pressed Fern and lilac leaf sections. The colors of the leaves change over time, as all things do in nature. The board is a restored vintage piece from the 80s and as such does show a few signs of its age. The counter pieces vary, giving the buyer the choice of factory-made wooden counters or hand-sliced birch branch slices.
For gamers and/or nature lovers, this unique backgammon set can be yours. They're sold on Etsy! So have fun playing with it. Or, it's so beautiful you could even display it as a piece of art.
Meet the Talented Carver and His Eagle
Meet this talented artist who carved this impressive eagle from a white oak tree stump. It may be too large to be brought home, but it's certainly found its home outside in nature, in its natural habitat. The eagle's face and wings are beige, while his wings and feathers are dark browns. Just look at the intricacy of the feathers, this must have taken ages to create, but boy, was it worth it!
This carved eagle brings to mind a scarecrow. Its size is so massive and his glaring eyes so intimidating, we reckon there's a good chance this bird could actually scare someone away!
Dreaming of Childhood
Motherhood is full of joys, and it seems like one of those perks is designing your baby's nursery. So this mom decided to use lockdown to focus on getting her child's nursery ready. Here we're looking at immaculately hand-painted scenery of her favorite childhood comic strip, "Calvin and Hobbes," which was created way back in 1985-1995. Some classics never get old, even 30 years later - and this is undoubtedly a fabulous example!
Just look at the bright colors. Not to mention she's managed to get some of the wall to actually look 3D. We're sure her newborn babe will love this work of art- we certainly do!
Three Organic Creations in One Picture
The model posing in the picture is the artist's son. He's a huge fan of knitwear, Neil Degrasse Tyson, and the Cosmos. so this Reddit user created a hat made out of yarn that glows under blacklight and lights up like space. But, that's not all. The same artist even made the yarn and created the dye technique too - how cool is that? The hat pattern is a Sockhead Hat from Ravelry.
Then, finally, to top things off. The hat is also black to represent the sky in space, while there are small sporadic bursts of colors surrounding the hat like the planets, moon, and stars.
Two Impressive Portraits Painted on Top of an Acrylic Pour
Wow! The talent in these two paintings is beyond words. The first painting is a portrait of Medusa, known from Greek mythology, who was punished by the Greek goddess Athena. As a result, she was transformed into an ugly monster with hair made of snakes. The Medusa painting is made from an acrylic pour, including gold, silver, and black colors. In contrast, the second painting is a portrait of a nun wearing a veil, also painted from an acrylic pour, using purple, turquoise, dark blue, and white colors.
The acrylic pours definitely add a flair to the portraits, giving them a more modern feel to these works of art. This is how all acrylics should end up. It's pure genius!
A Birdhouse Shaped as a Fake Security Camera
Needless to say, this creator has to be good at math since he had to calculate, cut, and drill all the parts of this birdhouse. He's also a handyman too for pulling this project off. This piece was made using: scrap plywood, a wooden rod, a drill with a hole saw, a jigsaw, sanding paper, nails, and glue. Then for the finishing touch, he added an electrical cord and white paint. The Reddit user then fixed the birdhouse to the tree and photoshopped the bird in for the illustration.
Although the security camera doesn't look real, we like to think that the birds can act as security guards, looking out for any strange people coming their way. It's the idea that counts, which is super creative!
Floating Shelves With a Twist
This Reddit user claims what happens to most artists: that his creation isn't what he planned. But, isn't that part of the fun? Not know 100% what the outcome will be? Sometimes making art is just a process that we go along with. These wall decor wooden shelves were made using bent lamentation from edge-banding veneer. The wood is made from oak and MDF, created with a circular saw and a router.
The shelves are white, small, and circular and hang in a distinct pattern. Then there's a brown twist made out of veneer. Sitting on the shelves are numerous plants and small ornaments, adding a lot of character to the room.
This Clever Person Handmade Her Own Stunning Wedding Dress
This gorgeous full-length cream wedding gown is the envy of the office. Whoever made this paid real attention to the detail with this stunning dress. We especially love the lace paneling running down the front of this handmade gown from its shoulders and bodice right through to the floor. Also gorgeous are the matching sheer lace sleeves. Whoever the bride was, we hope she felt beautiful on her big day.
The talented person who handmade this one-off wedding dress should consider setting up a business. We're sure brides-to-be would be queuing out of the door! The craftwork and time that went into this creation are truly impressive.
Small But Perfectly Formed Hand-Painted Trinket Triceratops
This crafter is evidently a dinosaur fan, particularly a fan of Triceratop herbivores, which were around in what is now North America 68 million years ago. These look like they’ve been hand-crafted from clay or china and then hand-painted in white. The attention to detail that’s gone into painting these cuties with blue flowers and leaves is impressive. These ornaments would make for perfect gifts for dinosaur fans or anyone looking for trinkets for their home.
Although we have to wonder if perhaps they were made with a specific use in mind, or maybe they are simply to look at and keep. What do you think?
A Portrait Of A Pet Done In Pastels That Looks As Good As A Photo
There’s no need for us to see the dog in this painting in real-time because it feels like we're looking at the real thing! This pet portrait is really clever and incredibly lifelike - the pooch looks so regal! This artist used pastels and pan pastels to create this beautiful portrait of a family pet. Needless to say, we can see that a lot of time and work has gone into this piece.
We think its creator has real talent and attention to detail; maybe they’ve done a few human portraits. Who would you like to draw if you had the skill?
You Can Make Amazing Hairpins From Antlers Without Hurting Or Killing Deer
According to the original poster, it’s possible to carve different items from deer antlers without hurting or killing the deer. We checked. It’s true. Deer shed their antlers from Fall to Winter. This is natural and doesn't cause the deer any pain. This carver has used said shed antlers to create some beautifully detailed hairpins. The carving on the top left includes what looks like an amber stone in its center.
The others are standalone pieces that would make great gifts. Although those hairpin ends do look pretty lethal to us! Despite that, it’s a great way to use something that would have otherwise have been left to waste.
I Made This Pair of Tan Leather Ankle Boots For My Partner
These boots really were made for walking! This original poster is clearly a talented shoemaker. Whoever they are, they have utilized their design and craftsmanship skills to make this beautiful-looking pair of tan leather ankle boots. The level of detail that’s gone into this piece of work is impressive. From the fine-looking stitching to the lace-up design, they’re definitely a pair of boots you won’t want to hang up anytime soon.
To us, they look like expensive boots you’d pay a lot for in a store. We're sure this original poster's partner is feeling lucky to be walking around in her very own bespoke pair of boots.
These Pendants Were All Made In One Day!
This artist decided to post these unique looking pendants after receiving negative comments about them, when some unkind person said they were ugly. These vintage-looking pendants are certainly eye-catching. They look like they’ve been made with resin, wildflowers, and leaves giving them a quaint Victorian-era feel to them. They’ve certainly been created with love and care. They're charming and would make the perfect gift for a loved one - especially someone who's a real nature-lover.
We especially like the slightly sparkly look that's set against the floral petals. The original poster did well to ignore the negativity and focus on the positivity of making something special and unique.
Lord Of The Rings Fans, Look Out!
Take a look at the detailed handiwork that’s gone into these two leather pieces. The briefcase in deep brown leather and the book cover in forest green is a homage to Lord of The Rings. This creator has placed the Tree of Gondor dead center in both pieces and paid real attention to detail, including the buckles and notches. The grab handle on the bag looks pretty sturdy to us too.
These items would make great gifts. We can imagine Lord of The Rings fans beating down this creator’s door to get their orders in. All that work and meticulousness certainly make these stand out from the crowd.
This Hand Painted Helmet Is A Real Homage To Nature
This original poster hand-painted this helmet and the result is just stunning. It’s a beautiful piece of work and we love all those gorgeous Spring and Summer flowers. We can’t identify all the flowers here but we’re loving the daffodils, foxgloves, and daisies, with a few butterflies fluttering in-between. Whether the artist wears this helmet on their bicycle or their motorbike, they’re sure to attract lots of attention when heading out for the day.
We’re not sure of the type of paint the original poster used, but hopefully, it’s the kind that’s not going to wear out in all weathers, so these beautifully detailed flowers last a lifetime.
It’d Be A Shame To Cut Into This Amazing Cake
This awesome and colorful cake is certainly a sight to behold. The cake depicts the house from Disney's 'Up.' We love the cute and homey house painted on the icing. But it’s the giant bunch of balloons shaped from fondant icing that really steals the show here. All those colors make this a stand-out statement of a cake! It would be such a shame to cut into such a creation.
However, our mouths are watering at the very thought. Maybe this cake maker is a contender for the Great American Baking Show or even the Great British Bake Off. Tea and cake, anyone?
This Crafter Took 3 Months To Make A Thousand Tall Padded Hearts To Create A Stunning Quilt
These two images are of a thousand individually sewn fabric hearts. It's an impressive feat - to say the least! This hard-working original poster spent three whole months using different fabrics in a range of shades from the color wheel to create a thousand tall hearts. They were then stuffed and sewn together to make a stunning quilt. We especially like that the quilt has been sewn so that there’s even a heart in its center.
We also love that the different colored hearts are sewn together so their shading runs perfectly into the next color. We’re glad that the fruits of their labor are here for all to see.
A Lakeside Firepit Made Out of River Rock
Wow. Just wow! That's all we could say when we first saw this stunning lakeside firepit. The original poster single-handedly built this beauty out of native river rock. Apparently, this is the biggest freestanding stone structure they original poster has ever made - so a massive pat on the back to whoever the creator is! We can just imagine sitting here with loved ones on a summer evening, watching the fire flicker.
It sounds like sheer bliss, right? It's safe to say, it's perfectly situated with the lake pictured behind it too. We couldn't think of a better place to have a BBQ - yum!
An Impressive Portrait
If anyone has ever tried their hand at painting, you probably know just how tricky capturing someone's face is. We think this artist has done a fantastic job. It's a delicate, beautiful portrayal of the lady pictured here. We love that you can still see the brush strokes, giving you a real sense of the artistry behind this masterpiece. If you look closely, you can even see little pops of pink eyeshadow that tie in nicely with the color of the lady's shirt - so clever!
All in all, this makes us envious of those who can paint beautiful creations like this! Unfortunately, the closest we can conjure up is stickmen. Oh well, we move on...
A Bed That Doubles as a Pirate's Ship
Believe it or not, this bed used to have a race car theme. What a transformation! We think this takes upcycling to whole new heights. Just look at the detailing!. From the jolly roger flag sailing above the head of the bed to the canon holes to the bed's side to the tiny ladder, the creators have thought of everything! Whoever the owner of this masterpiece is, is a lucky kid indeed.
We also love the fairy lights draped down the sides; these must make gorgeous nightlights. Is it wrong that we want a bed like this despite being in our late twenties? Asking for a friend...
A Stunning Boquet
Have you ever seen such a stunning floral bouquet? Not only is it massive, but the colors are beautiful and so unique. It's the perfect blend of reds and pinks - a combination you don't seem to see too often. But, here, it just works! We also love that the florist's hat even matches her beautiful creation - so coordinated! It almost goes without saying that we're feeling very jealous of whoever the lucky recipient is!
Could you imagine just how gorgeous the smell of this bouquet would be? Who needs an air freshener when you could have a miniature garden sent to your door - we know what we'd prefer!
A Technicoloured Shirt
Joseph called he wants his technicolored garb back (see what we did there XD). In all seriousness, this tie-dyed t-shirt is seriously impressive. The intricacy of the pattern and the blend of bright colors must have been incredibly difficult to achieve - so kudos to this original poster. It makes us wonder how long they've been in the tie-dye game to nail their expert technique! We imagine they'd be able to open up their own business selling these beauties.
This is such a throwback to the 60s and 70, and we're here for it. We're in awe of the time and effort that must have gone into this creation!
A Beautifully Welded Bear
Can you believe that the bear pictured here was the original poster's first-ever metal welding project? What a natural talent! Can you just imagine the kinds of stunning works they'll be producing a few years from now?! Just look at the bear's face; it's so expressive - adorable! We'd love to have this in our garden. But, of course, we imagine such a creation would have eaten up a lot of man-hours.
We can just imagine the creator producing all these welds and painstakingly placing them to form this beauty. We wonder whether the original poster takes commissions? We reckon they could make a fortune!
A Creepy Ghost Lady Made Out of Chicken Wire
Admittedly, this masterpiece won't be to everyone's tastes. However, you can't take away from the fact this handmade ghost lady is pretty impressive. Apparently, the original poster built this creation out of chicken wire. It would be the perfect addition to a Halloween display! That said, although where it's positioned makes for a great photo, we probably wouldn't place it somewhere so awkward. It looks a tad tricky for the residents of this home to get in and out!
We reckon the neighbors probably had a bit of a shock when they first drove past this figure at night! We can only imagine that this provided some amusement for whoever the talent is behind this structure!
A Wooden Desk Ft. Cool LED Lights
Have you ever seen such a cool desk? Until now we certainly hadn't. Apparently, this was a commission the original poster created out of scrap cuts and LED lights. How impressive is that? We're in awe of people who can take something seemingly worthless and create something beautiful, and in this case, practical too - win-win! With work from home on the rise, we imagine lots of people would want one of these bad boys for their home office!
It looks like something out of a sci-fi movie, and we love it. We wonder whether the original poster could craft a glowing chair to match? That would be the cherry on top of the cake!
A Collection of Crochet House Plants
You would be forgiven for thinking that these crocheted house plants were real! We had to do a double-take when we first saw this image. We imagine that this would be the perfect solution for any house plant lover who was unable to go out and add to their collection during the lockdowns. It's a near-on perfect substitute! They're also a fab idea for those who can't keep plants alive.
We reckon there's definitely a market out there for these beauties. If you're interested in such a product you can get your hands on them on the original poster's Etsy store.
Mechanical Owl Key Hooks
We love these intricately designed mechanical owl key hooks. Apparently, the original poster designed and printed these beauties themselves. Before today we didn't even know that mechanical key hooks existed. So, for the uninitiated, here's how they work. First, you place your keys on the hook. The hook is attached to the wings on the back of the owl. Then the weight of your key pulls the hook down and thereby the wings up.
This is what makes it look like owl's wings are flapping upwards. How cool is that? This unique creation certainly brought a smile to our faces! They would make the perfect gift for owl-lovers.
An Adult Friendship Bracelet
This snap literally made us laugh out loud. What we're looking at here is an adult friendship bracelet made by someone who is clearly upset that their buddy is moving away. We're assuming their relationship is somewhat jokey and banter-filled. Otherwise, we're unsure whether this bracelet would have gone down too well with the recipient. The bracelet reads: you are dead to me, with the words sweetly separated with cute love hearts.
Despite this being a joke gift (we assume), we love the creator has gone to the effort make the love hearts and the colored beads match each other - cute reds and oranges.
A Thoughtful Birthday Cake Made From Scratch
At first glance, we thought this was needlework. However, upon closer inspection, you can clearly see that it's a gorgeous birthday cake! This Dad lovingly baked his daughter this cake for her 11th birthday. It apparently measured 12 inches in diameter and 10 inches in height. All of the frosting, filling, and cake he made from scratch. Just look at how intricate the piping is - this must have taken this Dad ages!
We assume that Emery is a bowling fan, which is why the Dad has gone to the trouble of icing two yellow bowling pins and a red bowling ball. So cute!
A Mushroom Mug
Pictured here is a handmade mug that the owner has lovingly named 'Grumples.' The original poster jokingly said that Grumples was the first of the species. If you're wondering how this mug works, the mushroom cap comes off. We absolutely adore the grumpy look on the mug's face; it's so cute. The detail on the mushroom cap, the body of the mug, and the handle is incredible; this is truly the work of a first-rate potter.
The only thing better than 'Grumples' would be a Mrs. Grumples to keep him company. That would make for an adorable picture, don't you think? Fans of Grumples can purchase this potter's work via their website.
A Gem Made Out of an Old Beer Bottle
You would be forgiven for mistaking the gemstone pictured here as an example of expensive topaz. However, this talented artist actually crafted this masterpiece out of a shard of glass from an old beer bottle. This is another instance of recycling at its finest; it's such a clever idea. Just look at the shape of the gem, and how it catches the light, it really looks like a precious stone!
This is such a fabulous idea for sustainable designers looking to create beautiful jewelry out of readily available materials. Don't you think green bottles would make for beautiful gems too? What do you think?
A Real-Life Tardis
Calling all Dr. Who fans, this is the DIY creation for you. Yes, that's right. What you're looking at here is a real-life tardis! Apparently, this original poster's son always wanted a secret room, so this parent built him a Dr. Who tardis to make this dream come true. As you can see, when you open the door, the space inside is way bigger than it looks from the outside. Pretty neat, right?
The level of detail here is so impressive, they even remembered the phone! We think the parent of the year award needs to go to this original poster, their son must have been thrilled when he saw this.
